Good Timing

Barack Obama has been very fortunate to get a boost from the world of comedy at critical times in his battle for the White House, and now, in his presidency. First, it was Tina Fey during the campaign. During the past week, it’s been Jon Stewart. Just as the pundits were beginning to start spreading the lame meme via Jim Cramer that Obama was somehow responsible for the stock market decline, Stewart slammed Cramer and other financial soothsayers. You’ve probably seen it, but it’s worth seeing again. And again:

It turns out Cramer will be on The Daily Show Thursday night. That should be interesting.

We got such a kick out of this! Cramer was on Morning Joe a day or so later, licking his wounds. Not sure what’s going on with Jim Cramer…he used to support Obama, but not lately. Anyway, this was really good. I hadn’t seen all of it. Thanks for posting it.
I am enjoying your blog. It has good analytical pieces and hands-on features too. I usually can’t stand to listen to Cramer for more than a few seconds unless, that is, he is being skewered by the likes of Jon Stewart!
Thanks so much Clarence. It’s encouraging to hear positive feedback from readers. I hope you return to the blog often and become a regular commenter.
I don’t know if you saw Stewart’s interview with Cramer. That was even better! I had to give Cramer credit for coming on the show and facing Stewart, who is one of the sharpest people on TV.
