With the agreement in Congress on a $790 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Wednesday, President Obama is throwing the last lifeline that the federal government has out to the economy. The Fed doesn’t have any more interest rates to cut, and there isn’t going to be another stimulus package if this doesn’t work.

On a brighter note, it was good to see that Caterpillar has already promised Obama that if the stimulus is passed, they will re-hire some of the 20,000 workers they laid off a few weeks ago.
